I'd like to hope people would start looking deeper into Peter's life/work after seeing the film, but judging from the user comments at IMDb, that probably doesn't happen most of the time, because they're too repulsed by what the film presents. (weep)

I tried to watch 8 minutes video of Wickers world but it had text: "This video has been removed due to terms of use violation. " But the shorter video is there and it's great. Yes I agree that "Will the real Peter Sellers" was too mean and cold.
I hope someone will find rare Peter clips and put them in youtube. Movieclips are also wonderful of course.

I like the documentaries, especially the 3-part, 3-hour "Arena" one. "Will the Real Peter Sellers" was too mean to him; I knew he was over-sensitive sometimes so I thought he was just overreacting again, but I can see why he didn't want it shown - it was cold. "Somebody's Daughter Somebody's Son" was worth it just for clips from stuff like "Mr. Topaze". And I loooooove the Whicker's World interview!

I've liked Peter's movies since I was a child, but it's been only few months that I have been searching more information about his life.
Life and Death of PS...well what can I say, Geoffrey Rush is very good actor but he can't save the bad manuscript. Let's hope that someday someone will make better, respectful but realistic picture of him. All we have our faults and so had Peter, he was so fascinating person. He was difficult person, but so are many people in this world. I hope viewers of this movie can see beyond the picture it gives, and I'm sure many gets curious, was he so terrible? And after they've done some digging found out the true Peter Sellers or at least a climpse of him.

Hello Sapphire!
I think the interviews are the best in the youtube. I like Parkinson's interview a lot but I think Irish tv interview is even better and little bit more revealing (sad that film's sound quality is bad). Hard to say really. Documentaries are great especially Somebody's daughter Somebody's son. Will The Real Peter Sellers Please Stand Up is very controversial and quite sad also, but it's very rare and the clips they´ve used in that documentary are awesome.

Hi everybody!
Too bad it's so quiet here. It would be nice to talk about Peter with other fans. I got my dvd order yesterday, so many great movies. Also I'm watching Peter links from Youtube, oh how he was handsome...

I'm angry that it's been many years since they showed Peter's films in Finnish tv-channels. I haven't seen S.Martin's Pink P. films and I think I haven't missed much?!
Re: Did Peter Sellers say this? « Result #14 on Jan 26, 2009, 11:12pm »
Ahhh...the word or words you are looking for my friend are...' misunderstood, when you're are dead and not around to defend yourself!' Not from 'Jack', any other movie, book or interview, but would be very much his opinion now, don't you think?
Re: Why is Peter being forgotten? « Result #15 on Jan 26, 2009, 10:53pm »
Oh....and yes...sorry...the 'thread'....Why is Peter being forgotten?' I disagree. In the words of Spike, 'If you want mediocrity, that's up to you!' (BBC tv 'Saturday Night at the Mill' in answer to faffy girl presenter, asking what makes talent!) So, I guess most are distracted by the gloss of hype and dross. Steve Martin in Panther movies anyone??There are many, many Sellers fans out there. But we are a bit scattered. It took me quite some time to find this site...What you need is a few days slapping you hyper links and threads on other movie fan sites. I look in most days to You Tube and other Sellers related sites and your presence is really needed there. So, go on, blow your trumpet, missus!

Hi Everyone. I've just been dribbling and snarling at the news of the Blu Ray and DVD release of the anniversary Being There! Hooray! Lovely, atleast I can now put away my worn out vhs and dvd of Being There. However, whats got me a snarlin' is the bias towards the Blu Ray users having 'extra'....'extras'! It's all about dosh, Nelson Eddies and moolar! If you aint got the coinage for an all singing dancing Boo Rage machine....it's tough, mush. I will write a letter to The Times in blood and used grot. I read there is also an alturnative ending? Not sure if this is on the dvd or not. If any of you well spun youngsters get a gander at this Blu Ray release, do tell me if it's me buying one just for them there extra-extra bits.
By the way, thanks for setting up this ere site. I've been scanning for somewhere to get in from the cold for months!

I got the latest newsletter on Christmas Eve itself! It had excellent articles, including Willowtree's, and excellent layout. I will miss having the newsletters in my hot little hands.
I agree that there is too much chaff on the Internet choking out the wheat. On the one hand, YouTube has made a wealth of Peter material available to the world (the BBC documentaries, complete Goon Show episodes, etc.), and I like the current PSAS website. On the other hand, more "mainstream" sources of Peter-info aren't what they could be - the Wikipedia entry is poorly organized, for instance. There are few fan sites beyond PSAS, and fewer really good ones.
By the by Willowtree, sorry to hear about your poor theater experience. *comforting hugs* This too, hopefully, shall pass.
I am wondering how '09 will go for the Peter fan community at large. The prospect of the Blu-Ray DVDs is exciting, as are the possibilities for the 45th anniversary of Dr. Strangelove and 30th for Being There.
On the other hand, there are still a clutch of his films not yet released on standard DVD in region 1 (The Bobo, [b]Soft Beds, Hard Battles[/i], etc.) or on DVD anywhere (The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu, most glaringly). With VHS dwindling away - Amazon.com apparently is no longer carrying even used tapes - it's going to get harder and more expensive to find minor titles in his filmography. It's not the best time to be a fan...

Sorry for not looking at this sooner. The scene you refer to is actually from Curse of the Pink Panther (1983), which did not star Sellers (the hero there is played by Ted Wass); this might have been why you had trouble finding it.
